Laguna and Layan lifestyle

Cherng Talay sits at the northern edge of the Laguna Phuket development and extends toward Layan, giving it a more residential, less commercial feel than Bang Tao itself. Much of the villa stock here is set within gated estates or on larger private plots away from the main tourist strip.

The area is popular with long-term residents and families who want proximity to Laguna's golf course, restaurants and beach access without being directly on the busiest part of the strip.

Because the zone stretches over a larger area than Bang Tao, prices and plot sizes vary more from one development to the next, and it is common for buyers to compare several sub-areas within Cherng Talay itself before choosing.

Beaches

Layan Beach, at the northern end of Cherng Talay, is generally quieter than Bang Tao Beach, with fewer beach clubs and a more low-key atmosphere. Bang Tao Beach itself is also within easy reach for residents who want more restaurants and beach clubs nearby.

Both beaches are less built up than Bang Tao Beach's main strip, with fewer beach clubs and sunbeds along the shore.

A quieter, more residential character

Compared with Bang Tao's concentration of hotels and resort infrastructure, Cherng Talay is more residential, with villa estates, smaller housing developments and some agricultural land mixed in. This gives the area a different feel even though it shares the same core amenities a short drive away.

Several international schools operate within a 15 to 25 minute drive of Cherng Talay, which is part of why the zone attracts long-term family residents rather than only holiday-home buyers.

Getting around

Cherng Talay is close to Phuket International Airport, typically around 15 to 20 minutes by car, and shares Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket with Bang Tao for shopping and dining. Phuket Town is roughly 35 to 40 minutes away.

Layan and Bang Tao are both within a few minutes' drive, and Surin is roughly 10 minutes further along the coast.
